Growing up I remember begging my Mom to take my “Save It” box down from the shelf in the garage so I could look through it. I loved holding my baby shoes and clothes, seeing my little handprint on a piece of clay, and most of all flipping through the baby book of my first year milestones with pictures and little memories shared in my Mom’s writing.
Not too long ago the Captain’s mom sent us his baby books after we shared the news of our pregnancy, and it’s been so much fun to see his little face and what he was up to as he grew up as a little boy. What struck me the most was how much he looked just like him even as a newborn- it’s almost odd to see this baby-sized version of my full-grown husband! And it also makes me wonder if this little warrior will look just like that too… we’ll find out soon!
After flipping through these little memory books I wanted to find something similar for our little one as well, but with a modern twist. I stumbled upon these adorable prints by Strange Birdy and just fell in love. Even though we’re keeping our nursery mostly neutral with grey, white, and wood tones, we’ve been looking for little patriotic pops of color to add with art and accessories to give it a little boyish charm. I think that one of these would be just perfect!
I’m also loving these smaller card versions, which would be fun to send to grandparents who are so far away.
How do you keep track of your baby’s milestones? What about sharing news about your littles with family far away? I’d love to hear your ideas!
